Deep Water Regeneration

Our industry partner Graham’s secured the deep water regeneration project from clients Teessworks, to provide the first phase in an extensive regeneration program of the docklands in the Teesside, Middlesbrough area.

Trench Control were successfully appointed the piling package which included AZ sheet pile anchor wall and PU infill sheets to the front combi-wall as well as the placing and stressing of the anchor ties for the proposed new berthing platform.

Farrans were the preferred contractor for berths 7&8 on the north side harbour. The existing berths were extremely dilapidated to a state that significant point loads were no longer deemed safe.

Trench Control partnered with Farrans to install a new combi-wall running the length of the 2 existing berths incorporating tie back anchor wall and decking piles to form a structural stable berth where ships could dock. The project was to split into 2 phases starting with phase one to install 72No anchor tubes, 34No combi wall tubes with 33No infill AZ sheets and 2 return AZ sheet pile wing walls.

Trench Control worked alongside our partners Farrans and clients Northumberland Energy Park to transform an existing dock into a deep water berth with jack up barge capabilities and is part of a strategic land development plan for the Blyth estuary.

Mode Wheel Flood Defence Works

Trench Control partnered with McLaughlin & Harvey for Manchester District Council to install ground stabilization works along the canal side in Manchester’s Mode Wheel. Adjoining land owned by Valero has large petrochemical tanks which were monitored for movement due to the underscoring of the river bank.

Trench Control were appointed specialist piling sub-contractor to install new combi wall running parallel to the existing river bank and assist in the stabilization of the existing bank.
